THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH
MARCH 4TH - APRIL 18TH, 2027
Resident Production at the Greenhouse Theater Center
Before Achilles assailed the walls of Troy.
Before King Arthur drew the sword from the stone.
Before Beowulf slew the troll Grendel.
There was Gilgamesh.
Mankind's oldest surviving epic comes to life in a breathtaking, physical ensemble production. Two-thirds divine and one-third clay, King Gilgamesh rules Uruk with an iron fist - until the gods forge Enkidu, a wild man born of the steppe, to be his exact equal. What follows is a sweeping story of radical love, a desperate quest for immortality, and the devastating realization of what it means to be human.
Built brick by brick through explosive movement, live music, and poetic text, this adaptation strips away the textbook and exposes the beating heart of the world’s first hero.

Content Advisory: This performance contains intense horror themes and mature content. Audience discretion is advised for graphic slasher-style violence, gore, explicit body horror, physical assault, substance use, and the non-consensual outing of a character. The production also features highly immersive and disorienting technical elements, including sudden loud noises, heavy radio static, high-frequency audio distortion, atmospheric jump scares, and intense, saturated strobe lighting effects.
