20,000 LEAGUES

A GENDERBENT ADAPTATION OF VERNE'S CLASSIC

MARCH 4TH - APRIL 18TH, 2027

Resident Production at the Greenhouse Theater Center

Dive into a bold, breathtaking reimagining of Jules Verne’s classic adventure.

When a brilliant scientist and a cynical harpooner are shipwrecked by a mysterious "beast," they are rescued by the brilliant, intense Captain Nemo and her formidable all-female crew aboard the electric submarine, the Nautilus. But asylum comes with a price: they are now prisoners of war, never allowed to return to the land. This feminist adaptation by Bella Poynton explores power, empire, and isolation in a highly physical, action-packed production that brings the mysteries of the deep sea vividly to life.
